why did inyo switch numbers? is my old chat still there?
we completely rebuilt the system behind the old number and upgraded the backend, so we moved to this new official number. most of what you shared before is still here, so no need to worry.
can inyo really help me find someone?
that's the goal. it's designed to learn who you actually are through real conversation over time, and introduce you to someone whose patterns complement yours. the research backs the approach. the largest relationship study ever conducted (joel, eastwick, et al. 2020) found that what people say they want predicts only 5% of relationship success — but how they actually behave predicts 45%. every dating app on earth optimizes the 5%. inyo is built for the 45%.
will it take more than 4 weeks to get a match?
not necessarily. it could be as little as 3 days — or it could take months. it depends entirely on how much you put into it. the more you tell inyo about yourself, your dating history, what you've been drawn to, what hasn't worked, what you want — the faster it gets to know who you actually are. the better it knows you, the sooner it introduces you to someone it's confident is a fit. think of it like this — the people who match the fastest aren't necessarily the most charming or attractive. they're the ones who give inyo enough context to do its job well. the more you talk to it, the faster you find the right person.
is my data private?
yes. your conversations are encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption. we operate under privacy practices equivalent to hipaa standards, even though we're not legally classified as a healthcare provider. we don't sell your information, we don't use your conversations to train any third-party ai model, and we don't share your data with advertisers or data brokers. opting out of all texts is one word: text STOP to any inyo message.
do my personal messages get sent to others? can anyone see them?
no. your conversations with inyo are private and stay private. they are not shared with other users, ever. when inyo introduces you to a potential match, it shares only a curated subset — your first name, age, neighborhood, photos you've approved, and selected highlights you've agreed to share. the actual conversations you have with inyo are yours alone.
do you see potential matches photos beforehand?
yes. before any introduction goes out, you'll see your potential match's photos, first name, age, neighborhood, and a short profile inyo put together based on what it's learned about them. you decide whether to accept the introduction. no one is ever introduced to you without your approval first. the same goes the other way — your matches see your photos and profile before they say yes too. introductions only happen when both sides have seen each other and chosen to move forward.
